The difference in 8 vs 9 piece size is based on the number of horns:
The 8-piece band includes 1) bass, 2) drums, 3) guitar/lead male vocal, 4) keyboard, 5) saxophone, 6) trumpet, 7) lead female vocal, and 8) lead male vocal,
The 9-piece band includes 1) bass, 2) drums, 3) guitar/lead male vocal, 4) keyboard, 5) saxophone, 6) trumpet, 7) trombone, 8) lead female vocal, and 9) lead male vocal.
Music was one of two big priorities for our daughter’s wedding and Wilson Stevens delivered!! Every detail – from excellent pre-event communication, managing details with the venue, coordinating details day of and during – it all exceeded our expectations. We know our guests had an awesome time, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you to Emily, The Standard, and Wilson Stevens, for helping to create a lifetime of memories.

The Standard was amazing! From the moment they started playing our guests did not leave the dance floor. We were so impressed with their music selections and their ability to keep the party going. Multiple times they stepped off stage onto the dance floor to engage with the crowd. They even were nice enough to let my FIL (who used to be in a band) sing a song with them! We had great communication with Emily who was understanding and supportive with all our needs, requests and preferences. We cannot say enough good things about WS and the entire experience. We just celebrated my daughter’s wedding and people are still RAVING about the band, and I am still singing some of our favorite song choices that The Standard played for us. From the singers to the musicians to the saxophonist who came out on the floor and played for the bride spontaneously, to the flair and style and sound and uber talent, everyone was THE BEST! We had every confidence in Wilson Stevens from our first meeting to the final meeting and then to the celebration itself. Don’t think twice. Book them immediately. I don’t say this lightly. I am terrible at decision making. I will research for weeks, sometimes months, and then get overwhelmed by all the choices. When I spoke to Wilson Stevens, I thought they were too good to be true. They were professional, talented, and kind. Oh my goodness!! The Standard was absolutely amazing last night at our daughter’s wedding reception! The dancing started at 8:00 and NOBODY left the dance floor until the bitter end. When the band finished their last song and said goodnight, the whole dance floor started chanting “one more song”- the band kindly obliged and gave us one more. They were incredible and they made the evening a huge success.
