Jared Jones
His music has been called, catchy, soothing, soulful, and sophisticated. With recent song placements on the CBS Soap Opera, “The Young and The Restless”, the NBC Soap, “Days of Our Lives”, and the hit FOX series, “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”, Pop/R&B singer-songwriter Jared Jones is beginning to make serious moves in the music industry. In 2011 alone, he has sung backup for the legendary Whitney Houston, and 90s R&B star Johnny Gill, has completed the recording of his first album, “What Could’ve Been”, and released his first music video of the same title.
Jennifer Hoyt
All the way from Seattle, Jennifer currently attends Berklee College of Music with a merit scholarship. Jennifer has performed not only on both coasts of the United States, but has also traveled to Japan, Canada, and Costa Rica to perform. Jennifer started with a strong passion for Jazz in Seattle and has since broken into R&B, Pop, Rock, and also composes and records in Boston. Jennifer has sung and worked with Ernestine Anderson, The Seattle Symphony, and most recently was featured in Berklee College of Musics “Singer’s Night”, showcasing the top vocalists of the school as well as the Tower of Power ensemble.
Aaron Chase
As a child, Aaron Chase would often find himself in the control rooms of recording studios. Unable to find a babysitter on short notice, his parents would bring him along as they would be singing, and his father often engineering, at the same recording session. This practice continued until his father built a recording studio of his own as an addition to their house when Aaron was 8. Aaron literally grew up in a recording studio. His parents did session work during the week and gigged in their function band “Chase” on the weekends, his father, the musical director and drummer, his mother the MC and female vocalist. Aaron was born into music.
Mik Mersha
Mik is an accomplished bassist/vocalist who graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1993. Since graduation, Mik has worked as both a bandleader and sideman, touring in and out of the country with a number of professional groups whose styles range from Funk, R&B and Soul to Afro-Cuban Son, Salsa, Rhumba-Flamenca, West-African, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Rock & Blues to name a few. A native of Ethiopia who grew up on the North Shore, Mik brings a truly worldly knowledge of music and a unique feel to the SPLASH rhythm section which helps incite audiences to dance at every performance. Mik is also an accomplished audio engineer, painter, graphic artist and web designer at his project studio, Mersha Creative.
Ricardo Foster
Born and raised in Boston, Ricardo has been involved with the entertainment industry for over 10 years. Using his special talents as a dancer, choreographer, performer, actor, comedian, and model, he has single-handedly made a name for himself amongst many of today’s popular artists. Working and performing with artists ranging from Jay-Z to NSYNC, En-vogue to Uncle Cracker, and Destiny’s Child to old school classics like Naughty by Nature, and RUN DMC, he has seen it all. Recently he has been focusing his talents on ventures behind the scenes, choreographing for various artists, and producing onstage performances through his production company Unyted Stylz Entertainment. He has also fashioned Unyted Stylz to be an entertainment umbrella housing performers, teachers, and dance groups of different disciplines, styles, and backgrounds to help enrich and broaden the dance community in Boston. Ricardo brings another dimension to Splash, functioning as a backup singer, MC, and club style DJ.
Mario Perrett
Mario Perrett is known as one of Boston’s most moving, soulful, blues and R & B saxophonists around. 5 years at Berklee College of Music and about 20yrs on the scene have helped shape him into a talented performer you won’t want to miss! Mario’s performing career has been a well rounded experience steeped in many styles and experiences. He has played on big stages and small with legends and unknowns all with the same unique style and perspective. He has toured extensively in the US and Europe playing festivals and clubs everywhere from Norway to Istanbul to Walla Walla Washington
Shinichi Otsu
Shin came to Boston to attend the prestigious Berklee College of Music. While in the states he was privileged to perform with the Tony Award winning Broadway musical cast, “RENT” and with “Talent Show” starring Tommy Tune. He also was able to tour nationally on keys and as a musical director with saxophone great Greg Piccolo and W.C. Handy Award nominated singer, Michelle Wilson. Performing with numerous talents such as Otis Williams from The Temptations, Jean Carne, Jay Geils, Ronnie Earl and even the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Shin has a wealth of experience. He has opened for Robert Cray, Dr. John, Roberta Flack, Al Martino, John Scofield and The Sun Ra Arkestra. Adding to his many accolades, Shin has also received the “Young Distinguished Alumni Award”, the “Most Talented Male Award” and the “Most Outstanding Student in Music” from Lon Morris College in Texas.
Jon Chase
While still in High School in Virginia, Jon’s original band was awarded a recording contract with ABC Records and spent time in recording studios both in New York City and Nashville. After High School, Jon moved to the Boston area to attend Berklee College of Music. Upon finishing Berklee, he went on to travel up and down the East Coast, Canada and the Midwest as drummer and music director for several bands. At the same time, he also pursued a career as a studio drummer, recording engineer and producer, and wrote several award winning TV and radio jingles, along with dozens of other recordings. He’s been a leader of a top Boston area band for a number of years, and now owns a successful recording studio in addition to being a faculty member at Berklee and performing with Splash.
