Chaim- Lead Guitar, Vocals, Band Leader
Before Chaim was the bandleader of Bayside, he was a kid trying to play Beatles tunes alongside his father. Chaim picked up the guitar at age six and by ten he had devoured the Beatles catalog and moved on to rock, blues, funk and soul music. Upon getting bitten by the jazz bug in high school, he knew what he wanted to do for a living and decided to pursue a degree from Berklee College of Music. Today, Chaim holds a Bachelor of Music From Berklee College of Music and a Masters in Music from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia where he studied with Jazz Legends, Jimmy Bruno and Pat Martino. A recipient of the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, he has performed throughout the east coast as both a bandleader and sideman playing alongside jazz greats such as Uri Cane, Tim Hagans, and Jon Riley. In addition to playing guitar and singing for Bayside, Chaim maintains an active studio, teaching private lessons and music theory, handbell choirs, string ensembles, ukulele choirs and rock bands. Chaim lives by the motto “everything in moderation, including moderation” so when he isn’t rocking’ out with the band, you’ll find him skiing the slopes of New England or casting a line into any water where a fish might bite.
